Today, Vonfelt unveils Velours, a six-track EP that marks a new chapter in the Strasbourg-born artist's journey.
With Velours, Vonfelt places his voice at the heart of his project. Drawing on the French language and the influence of artists such as Bashung, Daho, and Gainsbourg, he crafts songs carried by a distinctive delivery that moves between spoken word and singing.
The EP's six tracks blend organic textures with electronic sounds, creating a universe shaped as much by the electronic pop of Daft Punk's Discovery era as by the experimental approach of SOPHIE and the energy of LCD Soundsystem. Balancing tension and delicacy, strength and vulnerability, Velours reveals an artistic identity that is now fully embraced.
These new songs will be performed live on June 17 at La Maroquinerie in Paris, where Vonfelt will open for Yan Wagner.
