After several years of intense touring across the UK and Europe, and standout appearances at festivals such as Truck, 2000 Trees, Down The Rabbit Hole, Sniester, Left of the Dial, Rebellion, and The Great Escape, grit-pop duo Snake Eyes finally unveil their debut album, “Cash Rich”. Formed in Brighton in 2020 as a creative outlet during lockdown, the band has since released two EPs and a mixtape, while sharing the stage with acts like YOU ME AT SIX, KID KAPICHI, and DINOSAUR PILE-UP. The result of five years of experimentation is an album where raw guitars meet catchy pop melodies, balancing raw power with subtlety for a sound that is both energetic and unforgettable. Each track, from the electrifying punk of Jar Full of Wasps to the introspective delicacy of I’m a Daydream, reflects the unique blend of rock, grunge, and pop that defines the duo’s sound.
“Cash Rich” is also an ethical and engaged manifesto: ambassadors of Music Declares Emergency, supporters of Greenpeace, regular collaborators with Music Venue Trust, and long-time vegans, Jim Heffy (vocals, guitar) and Thomas Coe-Booker (drums, vocals) prove that it’s possible to make exciting music while having a positive impact. The album flows through mostly short, punchy tracks that leave memorable moments and a constant desire for more, with longer tracks like I’m a Daydream and Robot Boy capturing a raw, authentic live energy. With this debut, Snake Eyes assert their style, their commitment, and their boldness, establishing themselves as a duo to watch in the years ahead.
