Born in Manchester and now based in Brussels, David Shaw was deeply influenced by the counter-cultures that collided during his adolescence (rave, punk, garage). His credo is to create music that breaks away from conventional formats and the beaten track.
He first made a name for himself producing electronic music under the name Siskid and collaborating with artists such as Jennifer Cardini and Vitalic.
David Shaw asserted his independence under the name David Shaw And The Beat and released the album So It Goes, a perfect blend of techno and new wave. He also founded DBFC with Dombrance, a band known for their amazing synthesiser-based rock tracks infused with baggy and Madchester.
In 2020, David Shaw's songwriting reached new emotional and creative heights with the release of Love Songs With a Kick Vol. 1, a collection of bold tracks spanning intense synth-pop, post-punk for urban rebels and apocalyptic crooner.
Over the past three years, he has written and recorded some forty tracks, sixteen of which are now compiled on two 3.
He will be performing in Paris at Petit Bain on march the 20th. Tickets here.
