Formed in 2022 from the meeting between Joachim Baumerder on violin and Simon Lacouture on drums, marta is a live techno duo that channels the energy of the club into a fully live performance. Their approach is built around a deliberately stripped-down setup—violin, drums, pedals, and a few layers—serving a physical, repetitive, dance-driven music where organic elements constantly interact with the codes of techno.
Noticed with their debut EP ROOM, highlighted by the Qobuzissime selection for its efficiency and radical edge, marta quickly established itself as a strong live act. The duo has played over forty shows, including appearances at Bars en Trans and Bise Festival, asserting a distinctive live identity rooted firmly in club culture.
In 2026, marta opens a new chapter with the release of their EP PUSH on April 24. A first single, LINE, released on February 11, sets the tone for an extensive tour—the most ambitious of the project to date.
