Two years after the release of her landmark album Inuktitut — awarded a Juno, shortlisted for the Polaris Prize, and winner of several Félix Awards — Elisapie celebrates this anniversary with a brand-new project: Inuktitut (Remixes), out on September 24.
Conceived as a unique work for the 60th anniversary of the Musée d’Art contemporain de Montréal, this new EP is the result of an inspired collaboration between the Inuk singer-songwriter, Montréal producer Hologramme, and visual artist Caroline Monnet. The outcome is a fascinating encounter: Elisapie’s moving voice intertwines with Hologramme’s atmospheric and elegant arrangements, evoking the geometric motifs that characterize Monnet’s visual universe.
Balancing meditative depth with soaring exaltation, Inuktitut (Remixes) reimagines the original album, blurring genre boundaries and opening a new chapter in Elisapie’s artistic journey.
